Farshid Etniko, with Gabe Bonfili and Emerson Magana will be holding a concert for the benefit of Confluence Zen Center on 11 June at the Focal Point in Maplewood from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.

We are excited to bring Farshid et al as part of our newly launched capital Campaign in Support of raising funds to help pay off our mortgage for the new Confluence Zen Center location that we moved into last year.

Vesak Day commemorates the Birth, Enlightenment, and Death of the Buddha Theravada, Tibetan, and Navayana Buddhism. Confluence Zen Center will be participating and Daigaku, our teacher, will be reciting the Heart Sutra with the Venerable Jué Huang.

As seen in the flyer below, it is Sunday 11 June, starting at 9:30 AM. It is free and open to the public.

On Thursday, 22 June, at 7:00 PM, we will be privileged to have a talk given by Rev. Ejo McMullen on the topic “What is intimately transmitted from east to west?”

Rev. Ejo McMullen is the founding abbot of the Buddha Eye Temple in Eugene, OR. He is a Soto Zen priest in the lineage of Joshin Keira Roshi, the former abbot of Shurinji Temple in Sendai. Japan.

With the coming of the New Year, there is the opportunity for new beginnings. Last year, we had a new beginning with our move to a new location for the Zen Center.

Confluence Zen Center will have a Capital Campaign this year to help pay down the mortgage.  This is to help with paying down the mortgage for the new house, but it can give us the opportunity to embark on new directions for the Center.

As we go forward with the campaign, we hope to gather information from you to spread the Dharma to our members, friends, and the larger community around all of us.
